Global Meet and Greet 9/4/13: A Taste of Athens

Join the Walter International Education Center for the first Global Meet and Greet of the year!

The purpose of Global Meet and Greet is to provide the opportunity for foreign and domestic students to interact and learn more about different cultures.  There will be a Global Meet and Greet roughly every other week and about 7 times this semester. Each week there will be a different theme representing a different country or culture. Students will get the chance to hear new music, try new foods, make new friends and learn more about the Walter International Education Center.

This week’s theme is “A Taste of Athens” perfectly fitting for the welcome back to school. The purpose of this theme is to welcome students home as well as learn more about local foods that Athens has to offer. There will be local restaurants and eateries featured such as pizza from Avalanche, breads and spreads from the Village Bakery, Coffee and Tea from Donkey, cookies from Fluff and chips and salsas from Casa Nueva. It is important for the sustainability of a small town to eat local and support the local community. At this Global Meet and Greet students will learn more about eating local and sustainability while also trying out delicious food for FREE!

This event will talk place in WIEC 106 from 3-4pm on Wednesday, Sept 4th. If you have any questions please contact Emily Burns at
